How to Claim a Prize

Claiming a prize is easy:
Sign ticket immediately and complete the information on the ticket back.
Prizes of $599 or less:
Simply present your winning ticket to your favorite Lottery Retailer or mail the signed/completed ticket to:

The risk of mailing tickets remains with the player, registered mail is recommended.
Prizes of $600 or more:
Prizes of $600 or more must be paid by the Lottery. You may present your winning prize ticket in person at the North Dakota Lottery’s office located in the Capitol in Bismarck between the hours of 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Or you can pick up a prize claim form from your local Lottery Retailer (or download the form from this website), complete and sign the form and send it along with your signed winning ticket to:

Prize Sharing:
If more than one person is claiming the prize, please call (701)328-1574 for instructions on how to claim the prize. Prizes can be paid out to individuals in a group only if each person's share is $600 or greater. If any individual's share is less than $600, the total prize must be paid to one person.
Taxes:
Federal Law requires the Lottery to report winnings of $600 or more to the IRS and withhold 25 percent of any claim of more than $5,000. North Dakota Law requires the Lottery to deduct and withhold 5.54 percent of winnings more than $5,000 as North Dakota withholding tax. Other withholding provisions may apply.
